Who am I?

I am Pia Qvarnström, a graduate in Nutrition from the University of Buenos Aires, a former Chief Resident at the Hospital de Clínicas of the same university, and a specialist in Evidence-Based Medicine and Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis. During my residency, I specialized in cancer patients (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY, USA) and nutritional support, an activity I carried out for seven years in the private sector. I have always understood that nutrition goes far beyond nutrients: it is deeply connected to our emotions, habits, and relationships. Therefore, I guide those who wish to nourish themselves in a conscious, real, and unrestricted way, prioritizing their emotional and physical well-being.

My current teaching activity is in schools and institutions, beginning as a teaching assistant in Adult Pathophysiology and Diet Therapy at the University of Buenos Aires. I've always enjoyed education, as I'm convinced it involves cultural and behavioral awareness. That's why, after becoming a mother, I initially focused my field on my children's school, the sports clubs they attended, and then on other institutions.

My goal is clear: to teach how to eat without punishment or restrictions, incorporating the good things without eliminating the enjoyment, and remembering that the path to healthy eating begins with self-knowledge and self-empathy.

Today, in addition to providing in-office consultations and personalized counseling, I support transformation processes through educational content, classes, and articles that promote accessible, realistic, and sustainable nutrition.

MY APPROACH

It is essentially based on the education of people, both on a personal and group level (companies, clubs, schools, health centers, churches, professional workshops). In the case of groups, not everyone needs personalized treatment; just understanding the physiological reasons for healthy eating and remote support is enough. In other cases, personalized monitoring that arises from the people themselves who identify their need for change is personalized, with a complete anthropometric analysis and specific objectives.

HONEST RESULTS

Successful understanding of training depends on the ability to communicate, as well as the capacity and desire to understand. Personally, I'm convinced that giving people the tools to create their own meals based on their tastes, habits, and traditions is sustainable over time.

If the problem is identified as a group problem, in companies, due to work schedules, in schools due to consumption observed by teachers and schedules, in training groups, due to specific objectives according to discipline, in different communities due to food availability, and in personal identifications of eating disorders, the objective is to educate and adapt foods according to specific needs.

Finding a balance can be difficult, but eating healthy and well isn't.

My concept of change:

The goal is to change body composition and not lose weight. In some cases, this is necessary, but not in all. If you can't make a personal consultation due to distance, simply taking certain measurements, such as waist and hip circumference, is enough to notice a change in your body and not get discouraged by the scale.

“She guided me, she guided me, and what I liked most was that there were no prohibitions! Soon my son wanted to try it…and today we're both more educated about nutrients, healthy eating, and pleasures. Thank you for your teaching and support.”

“Pía taught me how to eat healthy, knowing how to combine meals, and most importantly, I changed my habits! It's been a year and a half since I reached my goal weight and I've been maintaining it, so changing habits is essential.”

"Pía, thanks to you, my life has completely changed. You're not one of those nutritionists who weighs you, gives you a diet, and that's it. You dedicate a lot of time to your patients, guiding us, encouraging us to continue, always with the right words.

“Thank you so much!! You showed me that there is a much better, healthier way of life!!!”

“From the first time I went, you made me feel incredibly good, even though at the time, due to my physical condition, I wasn't comfortable anywhere. It's clear you love your job; you're always ready to give extra advice or suggest a great recipe. I honestly couldn't be more grateful to you. While I know I still have a long way to go to reach my ideal, it's incredible how much I've lost since March. 15 kilos and counting!
